My Home Studio Quality Microphone

Written by: reyshizz

A lot of people asked me about the set up for my home studio. The best way, i feel, to detail it is to through my set up piece by piece.

First, I want to talk about my microphone. It is a Sony Digital Recording Microphone. The features include:

  • Electret condenser stereo microphone for advanced amateur use
  • Mid/side (MS) capsules create natural stereo panorama
  • Adjust pickup angle (90-120 degrees) for single voice/instrument or multi-voice/instrument
  • Cannon XLR connector; oxygen-free copper Litz cord
  • Ideal for DAT or MD digital recorders

I like this mic because it’s small, portable and the quality is pretty good. It’s pretty cheap, too, for the quality that it delivers (less than $100). The only negative thing I have to say is that the sensitivity is low. If you plan on getting this mic you’ll need the right software to amplify your sounds or a preamp or both. I don’t have a preamp but it’s on my list of things to get.

You can find this mic on Amazon.com.
