Mixtapes Are the New Demos

Demos are a thing of the past. A demo (the sense that I’m using it) is sample recordings of your work that you would create to hand to executives for a chance to get signed. Back in the day, let’s say before the Internet was popular, the only way to really have a chance was to shop your demo around to DJs and A&Rs. If they weren’t feelin’ you, you were dead in the water. But now you can create a Mixtape using your home computer and the Internet to gain popularity amongst the music listeners.

Indie Music and Social Networking Sites

In preparation of the release of Reyshizz Reloaded, I had to work hard to make sure that it did not go un-noticed. Several months before I even released a song, I told as much people as possible that it was coming out and when to expect it.
