The above Listening Session aired this past Saturday (1/9/10). Me and a couple of my peoples got together and listened to and talked about my CD Making of a Man. We went through each track and responded to feedback from the viewers. This is our second episode so it’s still really rough. We’ll get more and more polished as we continue. I have just been made aware that the CDs for the EP Making of a Man are on its way! I got the e-mail notification a couple of days ago, so it’s official. The EP is already available on iTunes, but now I have the physical artifact to share with the world.

As you all know I completed my EP and it will (very soon) be released on iTunes and other digital music distribution outlets. It takes them some time to process each file and add it to their databases, but when it is ready you all will be the first to know

Each of my tracks were made into a ringtone and are now available for download onto your cell phone. To purchase you can use the above widget or go directly to my sales page or text the phrase “Get Reyshizz” to 48000.

There are two option for the purchase of my ringtones. The first is to buy each one individually for 2.99. I have 5 ringtones in total, so that would add up to about $15.00 to get the entire collection. The other way to buy is to sign up for the plan which is $9.99/month. With this plan you can get all my ringtones plus an unlimited amount of other ringtones from the site. I suggest get option two, keep it for a month, and then cancel. That way you can get all my ringtones and others for just 9.99. This would be the best value.

I’m finished, YES I’m DONE with the EP. It’s mixed down, mastered and delivered to the Industry Alternatives. The next step is to put it up on iTunes and other digital music distribution companies to make it available for download. While that is going on, I’m going to get a promotional CD out there to hand out where ever I can so that people can get a sample of the product, just enough to get them wanting more.

I am also going to be on a local mixtape hosted by @LaProfecy. I heard about the mixtape via Twitter, then I connected with dude to see what it was about. Apparently this mixtape features a bunch of indie artists, w/ the exception of J. Cole, and it’s going to be pushed heavy in the Metro New York Area. Which means if someone who could make things happen hears my shit… my phone should be buzzing crazy. So shot out to the boy @LaProfecy and check out his blog at PiffAvenue.com.

I have officially switched gears from Life on Rap to Making of a Man. This EP needs to be out ASAP. Since I’ve hired the Industry Alternative, I haven’t given them any work to do because they have no music from me. This is not very efficient use of time or money :-/ … But I have everything I need for the EP and should be done with recording this week. The next step is to get the music mixed down and mastered by a professional audio engineer. I met with one last week and gave him one of my tracks to test him out. When it comes back I’ll determine weather or not I’ll work with him.

I finally met with the producer I mentioned previously, and he has some skills. Of course his tracks won’t be on Making of a Man but they probably will be on Life on Rap.
