The Six Types of Rappers (Part 1 of 2)
The above video is a categorization of the six different types of rappers (part one). Below is a quick description and example of the 3 types that I talk about in this video.
Party Rapper – Makes music to get the crowd hype, has catchy hooks that sometimes involve a dance that goes along with it.
Example: Young Joc -It’s Going Down
Street Rapper – Makes music that boast about their street credibility. Topics include selling drugs, killing people, hanging out on the corner, and have an entourage of goons.
Example: 50 Cent – War Angel (the album)
Battle Rapper - Makes music to display lyrical superiority over any contender.
Example: Cassidy vs Freeway
