How common is it becoming to date someone after meeting them online? I’ve done it a lot in the past but I still cringe well I tell people, “I met her on the internet,” although it has become widely accepted.

It used to be an obsession, but then I got tired of seeing the same old user profiles filled with lIes and false promises. I’ve also had some bad experiences after meeting with someone who looked nothing like her profile pictures. So in my time as an early adopter to the trend I’ve seen ups and downs. Through the waves I’ve changed my approach several times. As of right now I’ve slowed down to a stop tyring to “meet” new people online. I’m just trying to maintain the relationships I’ve already created in “cyberspace” and in meatspace. That’s about it, oh wait, I do still browse. I love eye candy, but that’s as far as it goes… for now…
Do you think this personal limitation is necessary?

Meeting people online is so common now why cringe? I know people who have met their boyfriend and girlfriend online. You just have to try and make sure you stay safe. Please don’t go flying off to the middle of nowhere to met a man who claims he looks like Dwayne Wade unless you have had the FBI check him out.

It’s real ironic because my roomie and I were talking about internet dating today. And also, my best friend and I were talking about it at lunch one day. Idk how I feel about this. I believe that we are too young for online dating such as Match.com. However, if you are still single by 35 and have no choice, then you might consider Match.com.
So, I am not sure really about online dating at our age.

Sharon i think you’re about not cringing because meeting people online has basically become an ice-breaking mechanism… that’s pretty much it…
