Pealing Paint

February 18th, 2008 · 4 Comments

A wise once told me this metaphor that describes the early to middle stages of a relationship.

“When you first meet someone they are like a painting, each color represents the characteristics of the person. The painting is real, the colors are real. When interacting with this new person each of us carry a paint brush and a paint bucket with all the colors we can imagine. What we do is take the paint brush and paint over the painting to make ourselves see what we want to see. [Read more →]

Is it really that hard for women to find a good man??

February 11th, 2008 · 22 Comments

I had a conversation with a friend who told me about a female friend of his who’s actively seeking a man for a serious relationship. Her problem that the men who are interested in her aren’t about shit. They are “no good”, immature, hustling, losers and she’s tired of it. What worst part is that she is beginning to think that there is a problem with her because she attracts losers.

As he told me the problem with is friend, I could think about several of my female friends who go through the same ordeal. After discussing for a bit we’ve came to a couple of conclusions…

Internet Dating

February 4th, 2008 · 4 Comments

How common is it becoming to date someone after meeting them online? I’ve done it a lot in the past but I still cringe well I tell people, “I met her on the internet,” although it has become widely accepted.

The Parable of Talents

January 28th, 2008 · No Comments

OK so I know I said I’m not religious, but I am also not closed minded to other beliefs and traditions. Underneath all of our beliefs we are all still apart of the same religion. With that said I came across this interesting story told by Jesus. It goes a little something like this…

The Religion of Life

January 24th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Finally there is a religion that we all can be apart of. I think it’s great, I should, because I’ve just created it. The new religion is called the religion of life! All you have to do to be apart of it is be alive. There are two rules: 1) Continue to breathe as long as you can and 2) There shall be no additional rules added to this religion. Easy, huh? I dare someone to tell me that they are not part of this religion. LOL.

I Am Not Religious, There I Said it!

January 21st, 2008 · 6 Comments

I am not religious and do not belong to any religious sect. I do have beliefs. My beliefs may or may not be different from your religious views, but that doesn’t make me different from you. We are all human beings. Religion does a good job at separating us into different kinds of human (e.g. Catholic, Islamic, Jewish, etc.). Underneath all of those titles we tend to forget no matter what your religious label is we, collectively, are all the same. We are made out of the same stuff.

Is it just me or do you feel like applauding every time a plane that you’re on lands? If there is any reason to applaud I think that should be one!

Today I was in my hood driving downtown when I saw, what I assumed to be, a family of three. The mother and father who couldn’t be older than 22 and daughter looked about 3 years old. I assume everybody in the hood is broke or just getting by ’cause I know that’s how I’m living and how my family has been living. So I assume this little family can’t be well off for three reasons 1) they’re young 2) they’re in the hood and 3) they’re waking. That’s the norm where I’m from. But being away for a while and coming back I see things differently. What surprised me about this couple was gear they had on. All three of them, mother, father, daughter had on North Face coats, gloves and hats. I know how expensive that stuff is so I’m pretty sure that they couldn’t afford it. Then I looked down at the North Face logo on my gloves and jacket and thought, “I can’t afford this shit either. Why do I have it.” After closer observation I noticed that the dude had on red monkey jeans and some Jordan’s on his feet. The combination of the North Face red monkey and Jordan’s had to cost at least $1000. Now I’m pretty sure he could’ve done something else more productive with that $1000 but he chose to be fly fresh to def. What’s sad about that is I would make the same decision.

How did we get this way? How can we change?

How to Sell Shiny Rocks to Idiots

January 14th, 2008 · 4 Comments

1) Tell them it’s rare

If the rocks are rare then they will be valuable. The reason why gold is relatively cheap in comparison to shinny rocks is because gold is assumed to be abundant, which it pretty much is. If you control the distribution of shinny rocks, release a small amount every year you can maintain the value of each rock. For the record rocks are as abundant as gold.

2) Tie it to an emotion

Many would agree that the strongest human emotion is love and what better way to show someone you love them by giving them a shinny rock. So if you tie the shinny rocks to love more people will purchase them. And of course the bigger the rock the more you love them.

3) Give it to celebrities for free or a reduced price

Celebrities make the best sales people. When fans see them on TV or in movies with their shinny rocks the fans will want to buy their own shinny rocks to be like their favorite superstars.

4) Repeat
